With Express Flash PCIe SSDs and the optional Dell Fluid Cache for SAN and SanDisk, the Dell PowerEdge R630 can greatly reduce the storage latency.  The PowerEdge R630 is able to increase the amount of transactions per second by using 12Gb PowerEdge RAID controllers that provide double the throughput and cache that previous generation controllers offered.  There is also the ability to accelerate in-memory online analytical processing with a maximum of 24 DIMMs of DDR4 RAM, which allows for a potential of 15% greater bandwidth of other generations.

The Dell PowerEdge R630 is customizable for any business’ needs.  It can be configured to a dependable and general-purpose unit for business-critical applications.  Features that allow for this are the redundant power supply units, hot-plug swappable PSUs, HDDs, and fans, as well as dual SD card option for failsafe hypervisors.  The Dell R630 also offers the user expanded options for scalability as a result of its high-performance processing, large memory capacity and its innovative local storage options.

As with other Dell servers, the Dell R630 has the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller with the Lifecycle Controller that offers users access to many helpful features.  The biggest time saving feature is its ability to monitor server health, multiple internal parameters, and system performance in real time.  The Lifecycle Controller can specifically provide deployment, update and support automation on demand, which can increase the efficiency of the data center.  The Lifecycle controller is able to maximize the efficiency of the data center by updating any new Dell PowerEdge server added to the center automatically.

The integrated Dell Remote Access Controller provides a Tech Support Report, which is a report that is updated continually on the health and status report for over 5,000 important parameters.  This allows for a reduction in the time it takes to discover and remedy server problems.  This also allows for the administrator to use the OpenManage Mobile application to monitor the server remotely.  From this mobile application, you are able to check the status and logs for your servers.

The Dell PowerEdge R630 has the Zero-touch automated deployment feature.  This feature can find Dell servers using configuration files on an internal network and helps automatically setup the server.  This reduces the setup times and eliminating human error that you would see in manual setups.  The administrator only needs to set up the racks and plug in the servers, and the server sets itself up.  Dell’s Active System Manager helps to streamline infrastructure provisioning and can speed up workload deployment.  Its cloud enablement supports infrastructure as a service and platform as a service.
